Before your scan

 you will remove any jewelry and change into a hospital gown. You will lie on the motorized table, either on your back, stomach, or side, depending on the area being examined. The table slides into the scanner, where the dual X-ray sources and detectors rotate around you, capturing high-resolution images quickly and efficiently.

A contrast agent is used to enhance the visibility of specific organs or blood vessels. This contrast is given either orally or injected into a vein in your hand or arm, depending on the type of scan.
