Biruni University Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides accurate diagnosis and treatment services to its patients with an ethical and professional approach, using technology at international standards in all sub-branches of science with its experienced staff. In our department, in addition to all gynecological surgeries, normal pregnancy follow-up, high-risk pregnancy follow-up, general women's health, menopause-osteoporosis, birth control methods, gynecology, pelvic floor surgery, gynecological endoscopy (laparoscopy, hysteroscopy), gynecological oncology, infertility treatments are successfully carried out by a staff of physicians specialized in their fields.

Diagnoses and Treatments Performed in Our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

1. Infertility Cause Research and Treatment

The causes of infertility in infertile couples are investigated in detail and personalized treatment methods are applied.

Causes of Female Infertility:
  • Damage or blockage in the tubes.
  • Endometriosis.
  • Ovulation disorders.
  • High prolactin.
  • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
  • Early menopause.
  • Uterine fibroids (myomas).
  • Pelvic adhesions.
  • Drug use, thyroid problems, cancer treatments, late other reasons such as puberty, amenorrhea, liver diseases and diabetes.
Examinations Used to Investigate Female Factor:
  • Ultrasound and ovarian follicular reserve screening and monitoring of egg development.
  • Hormonal examinations (AMH and hormone profiles).
  • Hysterosalpingography (hysterosalpingography).
  • Hydrosonography.
  • Hysteroscopy (examination of the inside of the uterus with a camera).
  • Laparoscopic tube and ovarian surgery.
Causes of Male Infertility:
  • Abnormal sperm production or function.
  • Impaired sperm transport.
  • Improper lifestyle and general health problems.
Tests Used to Investigate Male Factor:
  • Spermiogram (semen examination).
  • Hormone tests.
  • Ultrasound.
Infertility Treatment Methods:
  • Ovulation induction treatments.
  • Intrauterine insemination (insemination).
  • Other personalized treatments.

2. Gynecologic Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment

Diagnostic Tests and Procedures Applied:
  • Cervical Cancer:
    • PAP smear test.
    • Colposcopic cervical biopsy.
    • Endocervical curettage.
    • LEEP procedures.
  • Endometrial Cancer:
    • Endometrial biopsies (with pipelle, sharp curettage or hysteroscopic methods).
  • Ovarian, Fallopian Tube and Vulva Cancers:
    • Biopsy and tumor marker analysis.

Appropriate treatment methods for each type of gynecological cancer are planned for each patient. In addition, regular follow-ups are performed for cancer patients.

3. Monitoring Pregnant and Fetal Health

Expectant mothers are encouraged to have check-ups before pregnancy occurs. The following services are provided during pregnancy follow-up:

  • Regular pregnancy check-ups and pregnancy education.
  • Fetal examination with four-dimensional ultrasonography.
  • Nuclea translucency screening and double test.
  • Fetal blood circulation analysis with color Doppler ultrasonography.
  • Three-fold test, fetal anomaly screening.
  • Fetal health monitoring with the help of fetal monitor (NST).
  • Painless delivery (epidural analgesia) and cesarean section practices.

4. Female Genital System Diseases, Hormonal Disorders, Menopause Follow-up and Other Gynecological Applications
